In 2020, affected by the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, the “Sorintex” Association mobilized its members by repurposing them for the production of masks and protective suits needed by the medical system in the Republic of Moldova.
Between March and October 2020, more than 1 million masks and 300,000 disposable suits were produced.
During a meeting with the President of the Republic of Moldova at that time, Mr. Igor Dodon, the members of the Association proposed a series of urgent measures for subsidizing and developing the light industry sector to minimize the negative economic effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
